Catnip is one of the most well-known “drugs” for cats. Some cats like to chew on fresh leaves and roll around on the plant. Others prefer dried leaves. Nepeta grows best in full sun, in light, well-drained, dry, poor soil. The use of fertilizer is not recommended. After the first flowering, the plant should be pruned to encourage new flowering.
